Sciatica, fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, pins and needles, numbness, tingling, and neurodegenerative conditions all have one major thing in common…. they are issues primarily involving a central nerve system (CNS) dysfunction. That means there is some sort of dysfunction occurring in the brain, spinal cord or spinal nerve roots such as an irritation, interference or pressure.
There are many causes for these irritations, interferences, or pressure on CNS tissue. It could be inflammation due to a spinal joint injury such as whiplash or chronic poor posture. The inflammation could be driven by nutritional factors or hydration status. The irritation or interference could be coming from a disc bulge, or a more subtle misalignment of the spinal joints which hinders proper spinal motion. Pressure and a “closing down” of space within the spinal cord and joints can be caused by muscular spasms/tension. These are just some of the more common causes of nerve dysfunction.
